Ioana-Raluca Avramescu was born in Bucharest in 1990 and began studying the piano at the age of six with Suzana Voineag. A year later, she began to achieve honors and recognition at numerous competitions and Olympiads in her native country and abroad.She performed as a soloist on Romanian musical stages such as the Romanian Athenaeum, Radio Broadcasting, and the George Enescu National Museum, and first performed with an orchestra at the age of ten under the direction of Bogdan Voda. Ioana continued her studies at the “George Enescu” National College of Music until the age of eighteen where she studied under teachers such as Anca Borina, Stela Dragulin, Adrian Tomescu and Shwan Sebastian.
After studying piano for one year at the National University of Music of Bucharest with Dana Borsan, Ioana was admitted in 2009 to the High School of Music in Geneva where she studied with Nelson Goerner. She obtained a Bachelor degree in Instrumental in 2013, Master of Concert in 2015, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Specialized Interpretation in 2017, and a Master in Pedagogy in the class of Cédric Pescia in 2018.During these nine years of study in Geneva, Ioana participated in masterclasses with other pianists and musicians of international fame, including Leon Fleisher, Dimitri Alexeev, Varjon Denes, Jaques Rouvier, Emanuel Ax and Niklas Sivelov.
